How does it work?

Create a new MarketShare campaign. Become a Champion.

Say your credit union wants to launch a campaign, but doesn’t want to incur the cost of developing a custom campaign. Given today’s economy, who can blame you?

So why not champion a new campaign that can later be sold as part of the MarketShare Program?

As a champion, you’ll work with the Central 1 Marketing & Creative Services team to build your campaign—including having final say on the creative and copywriting. After you’ve launched your campaign, MarketShare will re-sell it to other interested credit unions at a discounted price.

Once the campaign has been re-sold, we’ll cut you a cheque for half of the sale price. If another credit union buys your campaign, we’ll cut you another cheque — until you recoup all of your original campaign concept and design costs.

As the champion credit union, you can specify that your campaign can only be sold to credit unions outside of your operating trade area and you get to determine how big that area is — it could be as big as a province or more if you want.

Share an existing MarketShare campaign.

Want to make life even simpler? Purchase a pre-existing MarketShare campaign at a substantial discount. This option is perfect in situations when you don’t don't have time to develop a full campaign or want to save some money. What’s more, all of the elements can be customized with your credit union logo, colours and contact details.

But saving money doesn’t mean sacrificing quality, impact or regional and seasonal exclusivity. Remember, all MarketShare campaigns are professionally designed and written, and have successfully run in another market.

More extensive customization, such as increasing the number of elements or adding information on a particular product or promotion is also available for an additional cost.

 

Cost

The initial cost of championing a campaign is around $10,000, depending on how many elements you choose to develop. Don’t forget that you have the opportunity to recoup all your costs, as other credit unions purchase your campaign.

The cost structure for purchasing a pre-existing MarketShare campaign is based on your credit union’s asset size:

This pricing includes:

* regional exclusivity for 6 months from the day your campaign launches
* basic customization of each element, including adding your contact details, updating the background colour, inserting your logo, and basic rates and rules information, where applicable .

Printing and production fees are not included. If you are interested, please fill out the details on the MarketShare Order Form and we can provide a more detailed print estimate. See sample print costs here.

If you are interested in re-running a MarketShare campaign that you have previously used, the creative license fee will be reduced by 50%.

 

Timing

One of the benefits of ordering these campaigns is that they are already designed. The elements can be updated and ready for print within a matter of days. We will work with you to identify and meet your timelines.

 

Licensing

We have developed a campaign license which gives you regional exclusivity to your chosen campaign for a period of 6 months from the day your campaign launches. This ensures that no other credit unions who have branches in the cities where you operate will run this same creative during your campaign period.

 

How to order

Here's how it works:

  1. Click here to browse through the available campaigns.
  2. Download and complete the Online Order Form and the MarketShare License Agreement.
  3. E-mail or fax these documents to the Marketing & Creative Services department (contact details below)
  4. Once received, we will confirm that your chosen campaign is available for your region and then send you an estimate for approval (including any additional elements, special customization or printing requested, if applicable).
  5. We will send you proofs of your chosen elements, highlighting the areas that your credit union can customize.
  6. You send us the specific details required to customize your campaign elements.
  7. We update the campaign elements and send proofs to you for final approval.
  8. Once approved, we will either provide you with final print-ready files or send them out for printing (if you would like us to manage your print job).
